Course overview
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders:
Identification and Interventions
This workshop will introduce child specific strategies to help promote executive functioning and self-regulations skills. Parenting interventions will also be introduced that help parents to view this behavior as brain-based and not willful disobedience. Our interactions can either de-escalate the child or further the escalation. All too often, we engage in the latter. When we work with the child and alter expectations, environment, tasks, or interaction styles we can see great progress.
