Genetics 101 and Genetic Testing
Young children may be referred for a pediatric genetics evaluation for a number of reasons. A referral may be due to information identified during a newborn screening or birth defects. Your child may also be referred due to a particular health condition, physical features he exhibit or family history. This training will help you learn what you can expect during the visit with the genetic specialist. You will also gain a basic understanding of the genetic evaluation process so you can better communicate with the specialists working with your child.
