Growing Brains All Summer Long
(1.0 Credit Hour)
Growing Brains All Summer Long is a trauma‑informed caregiver training that teaches foster, kinship, and adoptive caregivers how to prevent the “summer slide” using short, everyday learning moments. Grounded in brain science, this course explains why skills fade over long breaks and shows caregivers how to rebuild reading, math, writing, and focus through natural routines—recipes, menus, car rides, conversations, and real‑world tasks. Caregivers learn connection‑first strategies, effort‑based confidence building, and ways to anchor learning inside a child’s interests, making practice feel safe rather than stressful. The training strengthens caregiver capacity to support trauma‑impacted learners, maintain educational progress, reduce frustration, and promote placement stability through predictable, nurturing summer habits.
