Employment First: What it Means for Kentuckians
with Disabilities and Those Who Support Them
(Kentucky Only)

Kentucky’s Employment First training introduces the state’s commitment to making competitive integrated employment the first option for people with disabilities. It covers: the legal foundation, including Kentucky’s 2022 law and WIOA, services like Pre-ETS, vocational rehabilitation, and supported employment, the roles of employment specialists, families, and support teams, and real-life success stories that highlight personalized planning and long-term support. The training equips families and professionals to advocate for meaningful employment opportunities.
