A Parent's Guide to Navigating Challenging Behavior, Part 3
Taking a deeper dive into challenging behaviors through the lens of Occupational Therapy. A child’s behavior can be a direct result of dysregulation of their central nervous system. Understanding an individual’s emotional response to a stimulus will influence their ability to adapt to an environment. Once we can identify sensory seeking or avoiding behaviors, we can then provide them with strategies to promote a sense of regulation needed to thrive within their environments.
