Course overview

Roots & Wings

Roots & Wings is a trauma informed caregiver training that strengthens the core skills needed to support children in foster, kinship, and adoptive homes. Caregivers learn how trauma affects attention, memory, and self control, and practice connection first strategies that calm the nervous system and reduce daily conflict. The course teaches predictable routines, executive function coaching, scaffolding (“I do, we do, you do”), and effort based confidence building, along with simple ways to grow reading and math skills at home. This training increases caregiver capacity to manage challenging behaviors, stabilize placements, and collaborate effectively with teachers, caseworkers, and clinicians.
