Sextortion:
Unveiling the Dangers of Online Exploitation!

Workers and caregivers should be concerned about a massive surge in the number of cases involving youth being threatened and coerced by adults into sending explicit images online or via social media. This is a crime called sextortion, punishable under federal and state laws. This program will help caregivers and others with youth to understand how the crime occurs and how to openly discuss online safety with their children. Children in foster care are uniquely vulnerable to this type of exploitation and this training will help workers and caregivers empower children/youth in their care and determine when a youth needs outside services to address concerns that might render them vulnerable to this exploitation.
