Understanding the Teen Brain
and Engaging Youth in Planning their Own Future

Susan Badeau (Sue) writes and speaks extensively on topics related to children, particularly those with special needs and is a frequent and passionate keynote speaker. Sue and her husband, Hector, have adopted twenty children and have fostered over 50 children in three states. In this presentation, Sue helps viewers connect with teens to understand what is important to them, as they are trying to navigate their feelings about themselves and being in out-of-home care. She discusses child development and specifically how important the adolescent years of development are and how the teen brain develops.
