Understanding the LGBTQ+ Community and Supporting the Foster Youth in Your Care Training objectives are: improve basic knowledge of the LGBTQ+ community including terminology, how to support youth through the coming out process, increasing understanding of gender identity and gender non-conforming youth to respond appropriately, and building awareness of issues the LGBTQ+ community may face.
